In these troubling times, we should all be more aware of our financial health. So if you've got an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, there are a large number of apps out there to help find out how your money is working for you or just being lazy and sitting there. Do you know what a failing hard drive sounds like?

Over the past 15 years I've handled a huge amount of bad hard drives and many times the most obvious indicator is the sound that it makes. One data recovery company has put together a list of sounds from failing hard drives from different vendors. This list also indicates what the actual cause of failure that is producing that sound. Those of us in the 2K Techroom have heard many of these sounds directly in the course of our workday. Now you can hear these sounds as well by going to the website linked below.

Did you get a new Verizon iPhone - time to Update already!

Apple released iOS 4.2.6 for the Verizon iPhone and is available to update via iTunes as soon as you purchase. I highly recommend you update as soon as you get your phone connected to iTunes so you don't have to worry about re-arranging all those apps you're about ready to download and install!

iPhone/iPad tip - create lock screen to do lists

I love my iPhone and the 2K iPad but there are times when we need a quick look at the phone to see our to-do list. The nice thing is that you can now set a different background for the lock screen and a nice screenshot of a "notes" list works quite well for a to-do list.
